Barkfly (Pseudopsocus rostocki) produces a faecal pellet (cctv image)

The following are three successive frames around the moment when the pellet is projected. The frame size is approx. 11.5x9.5mm and they were recorded at 1/50sec intervals.

The rear of the barkfly is about 5cm from the right edge of the frame. Assuming that the pellet has travelled out of frame in that direction, it would mean that to disappear in the moment between two consecutive frames it must have travelled at a speed of at least 250mm/sec
